Q. How much will it cost me?

We would normally advise you contact social services and they will advise you how much you will have to contribute to the cost of your care. They will do a financial assessment on you.

We do however take on private work if you do not wish to go through social services – just contact us direct.

Q. Do I have to go through Social Services?

Not if you prefer not to. You can pay privately and cost per hour can be provided by contacting the office.

Q. How many carers will I have?

2/3 carers is the usually amount you may get slightly more when we need to cover holiday times

Q. How many times a day will they visit?

That would depend on your needs. This could range from half an hour in the morning to help you with personal care or getting up in the morning – up to four times a day. We can also provide sit-ins if the main carer of the home needs to go out or have some time to themselves. We can also take the service user out on escort duty.

We also can provide carers overnight.

Q. Will they do my shopping and housework?

We will perform day-to-day housework i.e. hovering, dusting, making beds, washing up, Due to Health and safety we do not move heavy furniture or wash windows.

Q. I am worried about a stranger coming into my home?

All carers are police/ security checked and undergo a rigorous induction and training programme. We are registered with the government body and the local authority as a Preferred Provider. We also have the Investors in People Award.

Q. What if I am not happy with the services?

To ensure the service matches needs and expectations, we welcome any comments Services Users care to make. If they wish to complain about the service they are receiving from Carewatch, they should initially discuss the problem with the Care manager Sharon Wilkinson who will do her best to resolve the problem quickly to your satisfaction. Complaints can be made in person, in writing or by telephone. Complaints are fully investigated and a response provided as soon as possible.

Q. What if my carer does not turn up at the time expected?

Please give the carer 30 minutes either side of the call; they may be late due to traffic or adverse weather conditions. They may have been held up by another Service User and be unavoidable detained. Wherever possible we will try and contact you if this happens. Please contact the office if the carer fails to turn up we are contactable 24/7.
